Next-gen Archaeological Survey Technology

neXst stands out for its advanced use of automation and robotics, which form the core of its innovation in non-invasive archaeological investigations.

Fully automated and optimized aerial, underwater, and terrestrial drones, developed by the LAP&T-University of Siena, enable rapid, precise, and highly efficient survey operations, reducing data acquisition times by up to 50 times. The synergy between robotics and advanced sensor technology – laser, magnetometer, radar, thermal, etc. – allows overcoming accessibility limitations and operating in extreme weather & environmental conditions, providing a highly versatile and autonomous solution for mapping archaeological landscape, even in difficult-to-reach areas affected by natural or human-made events.

‘Proposing a new form of archaeology could be probably rash, premature but absolutely necessary’

David Clarke 1968
